Vilma Jää, one of the most interesting emerging artists in Finland, skillfully combines folk tradition with electronic pop. The singer, known for taking a feminist stance in her lyrics, deals with topical issues through age-old stories.
The artist, whose songs Saatanan saalistaja, Jäinen neiti and Humalahullu have made their way onto major radio stations, released her debut album “Kosto” in autumn 2023. Helsingin Sanomat gave the album a staggering four stars and described the combination of different soundscapes as captivating.
Usually touring the world with Kaija Saariaho’s opera Innocence, Vilma Jää will start her Finnish festival summer this year at Ruisrock!
