Ruisrock celebrates Finnish Music Day with artist announcements

Ruisrock celebrates Finnish Music Day and brings forth gems of Finnish music with both top artists and up-and-coming names. Big names such as ibe, SANNI and Blind Channel are added to the lineup.

Having played his only gig of the year at Ruisrock last summer, ibe, who will also take to the stage next summer, has been dubbed the voice of his generation and a musical innovator. He has established himself as one of the brightest stars in the Finnish rap scene and was Finland’s most listened to artist in 2023, according to Spotify.

Ruisrock has also secured the talented singer-songwriter SANNI, who’s celebrating her 10th anniversary in the scene and who’s been one of the most listened to artists in Finland for almost her entire career. Blind Channel, one of Finland’s most followed bands after the Eurovision Song Contest, will also perform at the festival as will the hottest of the hot pop band KUUMAA, charming with their catchy lyrics and captivating gigs.

Arppa, one of the top names in Finnish indie music, will also take to the stage at Ruisrock next summer. The band’s timeless music and touching lyrics skillfully reflect Finnish atmospheres, and the band is known for its performances bursting with energy and presence.

Pop softer than cotton is brought to the festival by the unique Iisa. You can also see the beloved emma & matilda duo, endlessly drawing inspiration from relationships, as well as Vilma Jää, who skillfully combines folk tradition with electronic pop. The up-and-coming artist Aliisa Syrjä takes you with her to where the boundaries between sadness and happiness are blurred and the earth rumbles under your feet.

Along with ibe, SHRTY is another addition to Ruisrock’s rap scene. SHRTY combines trap music, hip hop and afroswing in a completely unique way. The artist’s mega-hit “Pariisin kevät” (feat. Joalin) was one of the most listened to songs in Finland when it was released last summer.

Ruisrock will also welcome the legendary children’s music band Fröbelin Palikat, whose music is known to almost every 20-and-30-something in Finland. After a tireless social media campaign started by devoted fans, this is the first time they are playing a festival gig for a slightly older audience than their usual crowd. Expect a massive sing-along of nostalgic hits, to which everyone knew the lyrics and dance moves by the time they started kindergarten.

All three-day tickets for the festival are now on sale at Tiketti. More artists will be announced in the beginning of 2024.
