Ruisrock is making a comeback in spectacular style. Now in its 51st year, the festival’s line-up includes world-class stars, top Finnish artists and up-and-coming names. International artists include EDM legends Major Lazer and Martin Garrix, hip-hop pioneer Megan Thee Stallion, renowned glam rock band The Ark and rap star Playboi Carti. Domestic artists include Antti Tuisku, JVG, Haloo Helsinki!, Blind Channel and dozens more.
New additions to the extensive line-up
To kick off the festival week, Ruisrock announced four up-and-coming Finnish artists: the reggaeton-inspired El Migu, Costi, who released new music with JVG last week, T Swoop, the man behind the hit Mon Ami, and Ares, who is attracting attention in the rap scene. These rising stars share an interesting take on hip-hop music, a growing reputation in the Finnish music scene and an ever-increasing stream count. The artists will perform together on Friday on the legendary Telttalava stage.
“It’s hard to put into words the feeling of how great it will be to open the festival gates again this coming Friday. Ruisrock is back and better than ever, and I’m really proud of our unbelievably extensive line-up of 110 performers, which will showcase a stunning array of artists at very different stages of their careers, from big world stars to fresh talent,” says Ruisrock Promoter Mikko Niemelä.
Niemelä adds that ticket sales are extremely brisk and that these are the very last days to get tickets to enjoy the exuberant cornucopia of Ruisrock.
Aiming for the perfect festival experience
In addition to music, Ruisrock will focus on the visitors’ overall festival experience through visually stunning artworks, engaging activities and first-class catering services. The festival will also be focusing on audience wellbeing by bringing the Worry Chair by MIELI Mental Health Finland to the area to provide emotional support. In addition to the Worry Chair, a harassment liaison officer will provide emotional support in cases of harassment.
“As organisers of the festival, we recognise our responsibility to our audience. During this weekend full of experiences, we want to ensure that the emotional well-being of all participants is also supported. Our aim is to make Ruisrock as safe a space as possible, where perfect festival memories are created in every sense,” Niemelä sums up.
Building the festival experience is also a priority in the activities. There will be a silent disco, the legendary Reivikontti rave container, the brand-new Brooklyn Takapiha venue and an unprecedented DJ line-up. The area also offers esports experiences, astrology readings and a range of pampering treatments. There will be plenty to see and do all over the festival area.
See you on the weekend in Ruissalo!
