New names in Ruisrock’s DJ lineup

Ruisrock’s Finnish DJ lineup just got bigger as the festival confirmed seven new names and revealed several surprise guests who will feature on the previously announced DJ sets. The new feat announcements to be seen in Ruissalo include Kauriinmetsästäjät and Adikia, in addition to Ramses II whose own performance was announced earlier. The program includes big names such as DJ Vicky and DJ Ulrika.

Ruisrock’s program, which was finalized in May, received a surprise addition to its DJ sets when the festival announced several feat artists and a number of new DJs representing a wide mix of genres. This means that Ruisrock’s visitors can dance to rhythms curated by pro DJs right from the opening of the gates almost throughout the whole weekend.

Surprise guests at the new venue

The Brooklyn Takapiha stage, located in the Ranta restaurant area, now has a full program for the weekend. On Friday evening, the DJ set of the D.R.E.A.M. duo, formed by Taika Mannila and Lina Schiffer, will gain a whole new dimension when hip hop artists Vepu and Adikia will be featured in the show. Saturday night at Ruisrock will feature the iconic Saturday disco at Tavastia whose lineup includes Erkko, Mini and Skenikswee. This set will feature some interesting guests as Yrjänä, formerly known as a producer, and the trio behind the song Baby Boo, SAFIRA, Sara Bee and Jotti Singh, will add their sound to the performance.

The festival Sunday will get the climax it deserves also in Brooklyn Takapiha when the set played by DJ duo Paha Vaanii, formed by Laura Vartio and Harvest, will feature the electropop band Kauriinmetsästäjät and the recent breakthrough artist Ramses II. The party will continue late into the night on each day of the festival.

Several new names add variety to the DJ program

Interesting names have been added to the DJ set. After the gates open on Friday, the party will get started on Sateenkaarilava with DJ Ulrika, while DJ Nita and DJ Shy Girl, known as members of the FWU collective, will lead the party people on toward the darkening night. On Saturday, the festival will be kicked off with the rhythms of DJ Vicky, and the party will just keep on going later with Turku-based DJ Anttipiootti and the duo Bitchez and Bangerz. DJ Kolkka will spark a burst of energy into festival folk on Sunday.

Ruisrock will be held on 8–10 July 2022 in Ruissalo, Turku. Festival tickets are on sale at Tiketti, and some of the ticket types are already booked or sold out.
