Final Ruisrock programme released – over 30 new artists announced

Ruisrock's artist roster grew by more than 30 names as the festival announced its final programme. Among the top Finnish artists are BESS, Vesta and Cyan Kicks, while DJ sensation Imanbek will be among the international additions. Ruisrock will be celebrated on 8-10 July 2022 in Ruissalo, Turku.

DJ Imanbek, known for his knock-out club hits, will bring his diverse EDM repertoire to Ruisrock on Saturday. This successful Kazakh DJ became a viral hit propelled by his Roses remix, which launched his international career. The artist has released several highly acclaimed club hits such as Sweet Dreams and Goodbye, produced with Alan Walker.

Top Finnish performers

The Ruisrock programme is particularly packed with Finnish acts. Finnish pop trendsetter Vesta has received rave reviews and lived up to the audiences’ high expectations with her recent album Uskon tulevaan. The indie-pop line-up is also complemented by the up-and-coming Pehmoaino. R&B-flavoured pop is represented by BESS, whose hit Ram pam pam has made her a household name, and Nelli Matula, who has already established herself in the pop scene.

The programme has also been complemented in terms of the rock genre. On Friday the audience will see the most interesting name in disco metal, Cyan Kicks, who had also gained international popularity even before their success in this year’s edition of the UMK contest. Thrash metal, metalcore and breath-taking musical experiments will be brought to Ruissalo by the Jyväskylä-based band Lost Society. Indie rock will be provided by The Vantages, melodic punk rock by Underclass and ethereal shoegaze by Ruissalo Amping.

Ruisrock will also feature some of the most interesting names in Finnish rap. Among them are Cledos, who has already earned a name for himself, Etta, known for her famous flow, and Turisti, known for his original style, as well as Ramses II, the man behind the Villieläin viral hit, Lauri Haav, YleX Läpimurto winner Ege Zulu and a rare collaboration between Nelma U & Safira. Also taking to the stage is Melo, who has recently renewed his image as an artist.

New venue in the heart of Ruisrock

Ruisrock and Brooklyn Pilsner will unveil a new stage this year, which will be located in the restaurant area next to the Ranta stage. The Brooklyn Takapiha stage will provide an amazing setting for a wide range of genres from feminist rap to schlager and punk. During the weekend, Matriarkaatti, Pesso, Sofa, Pasa, Pambikallio, Pins.ku, Pekka Nisu, Punomo, Teini-Pää and Marko Haavisto & Poutahaukat will take to the stage. In addition to the gigs, Brooklyn Takapiha will feature parties by DJ collectives D.R.E.A.M., Tavastian Lauantaidisko and Paha Vaanii. There will be surprise guests in connection with the DJ sets.

– With this programme announcement, we can proudly say that Ruisrock will see next summer’s sharpest and most current line-up of artists, from megastars who have just made their breakthroughs to well-established favourites. With the new stage now unveiled, it’s great to be able to wrap up Ruisrock’s programme and say that next July we’ll be celebrating in Ruissalo again, says Ruisrock promoter Mikko Niemelä.

Ruisrock will be celebrated on 8-10 July 2022 in Ruissalo, Turku. Tickets for the festival are on sale at Tiketti, and some ticket types are already sold out. Hotel packages for the festival are sold by Visit Turku.
